I was really surprised at my experience. The hotel was very easy to find and very well lit. I had no issue getting in and out of the area. The room was spacious, comfortable, and the bed was just the perfect combo of firmness and comfortable.
The hotel is located very close to I 25 making it very convenient for the traveler. The staff went out of their way to find us a room that had been cleaned when we arrived at 2 PM. We were on an extended road trip and had decided to make it a short day. Other hotels would have simply said check-in was not until 4 PM and dismissed us. Our room was spacious and clean. WIFI was very good and breakfast was more than adequate.
My issue: I left my kindle in my room on accident and didn't notice until a couple of hours later. It has a chip and traced straight back there, but it was too late to turn around. Called the front desk and they said I had to leave a message for housekeeping. Twice. Both times we left detailed messages asking if they found it and describing it. Funny that they didn't care to return my call. Hope they enjoy my $130 brick since I had to have it blacklisted. Very dishonest. The other staff, however, was very pleasant. Would have been better if I could have talked to a manager and they talked to housekeeping themselves though. But nope.
The room was fine, charged more than it was worth. HOWEVER despite clicking NO to all of the offers, within moments of checking in, I had junk mail in my email box. PLUS they spring a pet fee on you when you check out. I read the pet policy and contacted the motel beforehand and NO ONE mentioned a pet fee.
The daily breakfast had variety to it so you were not eating the same thing every morning. The cleaning staff did an amazing job and everything was taken care of by the time I got back to my room on my lunch breaks.
This place is no "suites". This is an older motel with doors on the outside. Make sure you're aware cancellation is at 4:00 pm, not 6:00 pm. When I cancelled the reservation and told them I wasn't advised of the cancellation policy being 4:00pm, I was told they had no way of knowing that and would charge the card anyway.
Nicest rooms in this town that allow animals if you can get past the swarms of bugs outside the rooms and kill whatever got in as you threw yourself through the door.
I was very impressed with the service that I will be scheduling my next hotel stay in Socorro there!
